Crash Glass
Originally, glass or ceramic imitations, which are to be smashed in the play or film on the body of an actor, made of sugar, hence the still common, but wrong name "sugar glass", "film glass" or "stunt glass". The sugar has since been replaced by special plastics.
Crash glass is up to 6 times more fragile than real glass, so it's important to be careful with it. Avoid abrupt temperature changes and never place crash glass near potential heat sources. Always allow the glass to acclimatise sufficiently before use.
